As part of our curriculum we provide a range of enrichment opportunities for our children. In Year 2, 4 and 6 children have the opportunity to experience a residential visit. Information about the different residentials can be found below.
Year 2 - TATTENHALL

Owned and operated by Liverpool Hope University, Plas Caerdeon Outdoor Education Centre in North Wales delivers residential outdoor activity courses to a wide range of external groups, including schools, youth groups of all ages, university students and staff.
The outdoor activity centre, a member of the Association of Heads of Outdoor Education Centres (AHOEC), is set in 18 acres of private, secluded woodlands within the Snowdonia National Park, North Wales overlooking the Mawddach Estuary – often described as one of the most beautiful in Britain.
- Outdoor Activities: Teaching staff are fully qualified in a wide range of outdoor activities including kayaking, canoeing, rock climbing, archery, mountaineering and environmental sciences.
- Catering: Fully flexible, including home-cooked meals and special dietary needs; essential for outdoor activity courses. There is also a self catering option using our self catering cottages (see below).
- Equipment: Plas Caerdeon provides all specialist outdoor activity equipment and clothing. Other facilities include a purpose-built classroom with interactive whiteboard and data projectors; teaching rooms, small library, computer suite and drying room; essential for outdoor activities. A fleet of minibuses provide daily transport for groups during off site activities.
VENUE INFORMATION
ACCOMMODATION
The Manor House can accommodate up to 60 people with the flexibility of two and three bedded rooms on the second floor, and the option of two, four or eight bedded rooms on the first floor, including some rooms with en-suite facilities. It also features a games room and conference room with adjoining spacious lounge overlooking the Mawddach estuary and an efficient drying room – a must for outdoor activities in North Wales!
DEVELOPMENT
The former stables have been transformed and now combined with Farrow and Watkin self catering cottages, offers additional independent self catering accommodation for up to twenty people. The en-suite accommodation also includes self catering facilities for users with disabilities, providing ground floor accommodation accessible to wheelchair users.
SELF CATERING COTTAGES
Separate from the main house, but within the centre grounds are two self catering cottages. Farrow Cottage can sleep up to six people (One double and two twin rooms), while Watkin Cottage caters for up to four people (two twin rooms). Both self catering cottages may be booked independently of the main centre and may be combined with the three ground floor en-suite rooms of the linked Stables. Ground floor accommodation in the newly converted stable block provides self catering accommodation for visitors with disabilities, including wheelchair users. Location is ideal for a range of outdoor activities in Snowdonia and mid Wales.
